KompoZer has continued where he stood NVU (known tool for visual creation of web pages), so not surprising similarities. Simple interface is designed for visual development of web pages which makes it suitable for less experienced users.
Fortunately the development more or less hectic place, and although it is now still in beta, but is mature enough to create something even more complex web pages.
